Beginners Guide To Raising Sons Of Frenchmans Guy

By Lucia Weeks

Raising pets can already be a challenge. Moreso if you are raising an animal that you plan on sending for competitions. You will not only be concerned about the foods that he should eat. You will also have to think about the schedules of his regular trainings. Some will even hire professional trainers who will see to it that the animal is in good shape.

But if you have really decided and are ready to make the purchase, then that is fine. If you have not decided what breed to choose yet, then looking at the sons of Frenchmans Guy can be a good start. This breed is liked by many because of their potential for competition. And even if you do not plan on having them compete professionaly, it is good to know that professionals favor this breed when it comes to racing.

If you decide to get and raise one however, you will need to take note of several things. You will have to be familiar with the things you need to do. Familiarizing these things will at least reduce the hassle that you may encounter later on. Below are the things you can do.

Know everything about the breed and what your responsibilities are. You have to be informed. If you are not willing to spend time knowing what this breed is all about, then might as well forget the idea of raising. Read about their characteristics, there habits, what makes them angry, what they love and the like. You will be surprised by the amount of information you can get by a single read.

Second, ensure that you have enough space. Horses are not like those domestic pets that you can just bring inside your house. They will need a separate place to stay. A run in shelter is necessary. You will also need to have a medium or large pasture where you can do some drills with the animal. Of course, you should have a source of large amount of grass for its foods. Unless you have these, do not buy the horse. Look for a barn instead near your place that offers lessons.

Take lessons. Self studying may be more favorable for you. But getting instructions from people who have been working with horses for years is beneficial. By undergoing training, you are preparing yourself on things like how to feed the animal, how to clean their waste, what you should do when they are ill and the like. These information can be found online, but experiencing it for real is a different story.

Fourth, buy the appropriate fitting tack for your horse. There are a lot of shops that offer complete gears for horses. Ensure that you but something that perfectly fits your chosen animal. You may have to do this at a later time when the foal is already grown and ready to compete. If you need to customize it for him then do so.

Dress yourself right. Raising and taming a horse is far from cuddling a puppy. So do not be content with the casual clothing that you have. A dress while feeding a horse may look good on photo, but is definitely inappropriate. Horse shops should have something to recommend for you.

The thought of raising a horse can be fun and rewarding. But this does not mean it is easy. Many new owners has quit the job because of the hassle. But if you have prepared yourself in advance, then you have the advantage.
