Finding Doggy Day Care Indianapolis

By Ina Hunt

In today's busy world more and more people are working longer hours just to get by. Many couple both have to work full time jobs just to make ends meet and pay their bills. Despite this hectic lifestyle many families still want to enjoy the company of a pet. Dogs and cats are still the most popular pets, with millions of homes having one or more of these friendly animals to call part of the family.

For those who have to be out of the house all day finding someone to let out the dog and take them for a walk can be very challenging. Even if they do manage to find someone reliable the animal is still left alone for most of the day. Many dogs are not happy about this and can become quite destructive, simply out of sheer boredom. Having access to a good doggy day care Indianapolis is the answer.

These wonderful care centers have everything that an owner needs. Clean new buildings, large outdoor spaces and flexible hours. Many open their doors as early as six in the morning to accommodate the early birds. They then stay open as late as ten in the evening to be there for owners who work late.

The day cares allow the animals to spend time together in a safe and controlled environment. Before they are allowed to play dogs are gradually introduced to each other to ensure that there will be no fighting. Most dogs are very friendly, but some maintain aggressive tendencies that can be a problem in small groups. These dogs often have their own individual runs so they can still get plenty of exercise without causing any trouble.

Owners should always be aware that spending time with their dogs is vital to teach it obedience and social skills. Many dogs are sadly lacking in these basic manners and have a hard time adjusting. Younger dogs are typically the most able to change as they are not set in their ways. However, with careful training and a positive attitude it should be possible for all dogs to improve their behavior.

The age of the dog or dogs is crucial to take into consideration. A very young dog who is little more than a puppy may also have a hard time dealing with all the action. It really depends on the temperament of the individual animal. Some dogs are just naturally social and seem to take everything in their stride. On the other hand a very nervous or timid dog will be quickly over whelmed and may react with aggression.

Once the owners have met the staff and taken a tour it is time to bring the dog over for a visit. This should be scheduled so that enough staff members are available to keep everything under control and answer any questions. The owner should be very aware of their dogs reaction to every situation to judge how they will settle in.

Every animal needs a little time to adjust. For some this may be as little as a week, but for others it can be much longer. Most dogs are very social animals and love to be with others. Having the chance to spend time outdoors is also very valuable to their mental and physical health.
